“Friendliness of Staff Impressed Me the Most“

This was my first visit to the marina as a game fisherman. The marina of course is excellent but it was the friendliness of the staff that impressed me the most. I loved the complimentary coffees and newspapers in the mornings and the afternoon cocktails (sadly missed out on a few because I was out fishing). I also enjoyed the complimentary 5am cooked breakfasts especially cooked for the game fish comp by the marina staff.

“The Staff were Fantastic and so Helpful“

The staff were fantastic and so helpful, I only had a little 18’boat but I was treated as though my boat was worth a million dollars.

“This Place Puts 5 Star Hotels to Shame“

…We depart Soldiers Point Marina somewhat hesitantly as it is the best Marina we have ever been to in our life. This place puts 5 Star hotels to shame. They grow annual flowers in pots to hang on the pontoon posts during the summer season. The amenities have marble benches with fresh towels rolled up and presented including soothing piped music. Oh yes, very hard to leave…

“Service and Amenities are Superior“

Port Hacking Game Fishing Club chooses to stay at Soldiers Point Marina for the Game Fish month because of the protection from the north east winds. Service & amenities are superior to alternative facilities. Service from friendly staff and of course the coffee + papers and cocktails in the afternoon are wonderful.

“Best Marina on the Eastern Seaboard“

This has to be one of the best marinas we have visited along the eastern seaboard. Great facilities and terrific food outlets ranging from a wonderful a la carte restaurant, a more sedate restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to a gourmet food outlet called The Boat Shed which is open from 8-5 , 7 days a week and provides wonderful snacks and coffee. We’ve been to all three (admit, we live in Soldiers Point) and can’t fault any for food service or position. On top of that, an extremely well looked after Marina with all the facilities a voyaging boatie would be looking for. Magnificent!

“ECLAT Club a Brilliant Idea“

We lived in Sydney for many years before moving up to Port Stephens. Our favourite area for boating in the Sydney region has always been Cowan Creek and the lower Hawkesbury River with beautiful sculpted sandstone scenery. Now that we keep our boat at Soldiers Point Marina we enjoy being members of the Eclat Club so that we can sail down to the Hawkesbury area during the summer holidays and use Bobbin Head Marina as our base of operations. At Bobbin Head we get the same excellent service that we do at Soldiers Point. This allows us to really enjoy the very different anchorages and environments that these two areas offer. The Eclat Club is a brilliant idea and we would recommend that residents of all member marinas take advantage of the reciprocal opportunities to experience some of the best marinas and boating areas along the East Coast of Australia.

“Greeted with a Glass of Cold Moet“

After a big day out fishing at Broughton Island on New Years Day we returned to the marina and were greeted with a glass of cold Moet, which was very much appreciated. It capped off a lovely day. Unfortunately as my husband was cleaning up I had to have his
as well!!

“Best Value for Money Along the Coast“

After staying in various marinas along the coast, the Soldiers Point Marina is by far the best value for money, has the most friendly and supportive staff and presents the most breath taking sunsets to set off the end of each perfect day
Throughout the summer months, each occupant of the marina is grated with free morning coffees and daily papers and free cocktails to enjoy at the end each afternoon
Boasting beautifully maintained bathrooms and surrounded by restaurants hugging the Marina’s edge, this Marina has so much to offer that nearby other marinas are left wanting in every instance.
Becoming a “resident” of the marina is to be welcomed into a large family where everyone’s needs are seen to seemingly immediately with no fuss or bother. Whether it’s coffee and lunch from the floating cafe or drifting slowly away from the berth into the pristine waters of the bay, Soldiers Point Marina presents every feature, benefit and peace of mind that anyone could ever want from this first class facility of this standard.

“SailTime Member – A big thumbs up“

Being a Sailtime member at Soldiers Point Marina for 2.5 years now has only reinforced my decision not to the buy outright, but rather pay a monthly fee and be able to walk on and off the yacht without any worries. So, what do you get as a Sailtime member at Port Stephens for your monthly?

First up, access to the yacht. The vessel is 5-year- old Jeanneau 379. And it is a treat to sail. Either single-handed or with a crew, the yacht is easy to sail, well-mannered in most conditions, and very comfortable for overnight and extended stays. The maintenance level is high. Much TLC is bestowed on this vessel by the marina staff so it looks in excellent condition. All maintenance and mechanical glitches are dealt with quickly by Darrell Barnett and his marina staff.

The marina. Access to the numerous facilities in this 5-star marina is included with Sailtime membership. Guests we’ve had on board who are new to the area are universally impressed with the facilities.

The service level. Exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for Darrell and his staff. Always courteous, cheery, attentive and professional in their service delivery – not just for Sailtime members, but for everyone at the marina.

Finally, the sailing venue. No more needs to be said other than it is Port Stephens. Inshore and offshore – the location provides a wealth of opportunities to develop new sailing skills or to build on existing sailing experience. All in all, we found Sailtime to be an engaging and rewarding experience.

A big thumbs up!

“Facilities are Legendary“

Congratulations on the award of five golden anchors to Soldiers Point Marina. It’s a well deserved award. Having stayed at many marinas during our east coast cruises, yours stands out in all categories and will remain our summer base of operations as long as you can accommodate us

The bathroom facilities are legendary among the cruising fraternity and the availability of assistance when mooring our 46 ft cat in high winds is both rare and much appreciated. Topped off with two excellent restaurants, Soldiers Point remains our favourite marina.

“Friendliness and Professionalism“

Upon arriving at Soldiers Point marina, where storage of my beloved boat was to take place, I was greeted with an unexpected degree of friendliness and professionalism. The marina’s manager (Darrell Barnett) promptly showed me where my boat was to be stored in a secure fenced area with a key for unlimited access. Facilities such as hoses, power etc was also shown to us as well as a tour of the marina’s extensive facilities.
This beautiful facility is located on the western side of Soldiers Point out of the prevailing winds (which at the time were quite strong some days) meaning calm conditions in which to berth, have a quite drink etc.
I would truly recommend Soldiers Point and if you have a boat regardless of what size consider the Soldiers Point Marina. You won’t be disappointed, I wasn’t.

“Very Welcoming and Made the Stay So Easy“

We stayed on our boat at the marina for a few days and will definitely be back. The hosts were very welcoming and made the stay so easy. The facilities are top notch with large private bathrooms equal to a 5 star resort. There were many little features that showed a lot of thought and attention to detail had gone into creating a nice ambience, and nothing seemed to be a trouble.

Marinas in Port Stephens aren’t normally the cheapest around, but the deal we were offered was excellent.

The best marina we have stayed at.

“Nothing is too Much Trouble“

I am proud to be associated with the marina. My wife and I would particularly like to say how much we enjoyed meeting Darrell and Jim and the rest of the team. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they bend over backwards to assist in anyway they can.

“SailTime – The best way to have a boat“

Sailtime – the best way to have a boat

I first came across the concept of Sailtime when I had the option of buying a sizeable powered boat second hand at about 60% of its value and did some research on the annual costs of having such a boat.

Darrell at Soldiers Point Marina was wonderfully helpful in providing the information I needed and when he sensed my concern over the costs of holding a boat, he asked whether I had my heart set on a powered boat or whether I would be interested in a sailboat and explained to me the concept of Sailtime.

Very soon afterwards, my friends and I were on a “test sail” with Darrell at the wheel. The size of the boat, its creature comforts and beautiful finish were very impressive and soon my friends were urging me to take a more detailed investigation of the arrangement as they could see how much I enjoyed the experience.

I chose the more expensive option when joining the club because I felt it gave me more options to suit my lifestyle, however, if I lived close to or in Port Stephens, then this option would be without a doubt the best option because of its flexibility providing more options to use the boat.

After joining the club, I was given excellent training on how to take the boat out and bring it back without damaging it, as well as anchoring and navigating around the bay so that I could feel confident. This was so successful, I was able to be confident sufficiently to take the boat out myself with some friends the next day.

It is now over a year since I have been a member of club Sailtime and I look forward to each time I have the opportunity to go for a sail around the beautiful Port Stephens and improve my sailing ability and for the feel of the wind through the sails. My favourite anchorage is at Shoal Bay for lunch and a swim as well as cruising along being in the situation where I used to see others with envy.

The Port Stephens staff have been wonderfully helpful at all times and willing to help with the boat every time they are available. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.

“Superior Berths“

We have stayed at Soldiers Point Marina on several occasions over the past years and as a family have enjoyed the marina in full by using the superior berths, 5 Star amenities, restaurant & café plus all the other services. From our perspective it makes a boating holiday all the more fun to have a base with such excellent services and hospitality.

“Staff are Absolutely Fabulous“

We have been at the marina for 2-3 years now and it is an experience to be moored there. The on wharf staff are absolutely fabulous and whenever there is any sort of incident, ie bad weather, you know that they will attend to your boat without you having to race down there. They will also help you get out of the marina or moor up in bad weather or a high tide running, which is a great help to amateur mariners. The added bonuses are of course the wonderful bathroom facilities, access to two great restaurants, the early morning coffees and the sunset cocktails. All in all,
a great experience.

“Top Class Service and Facitilies“

…Two nights were spent at Soldiers Point Marina. This is a new marina and has been rated 5 anchors by the international Rating Scheme for Marinas. It is worth every penny it cost to stay. In our case an out of season rate of $95 sounded expensive at first but for this you get top class service and facilities. Cocktails in the evening, courtesy car to go shopping, morning newspaper and coffee and the bathrooms would put any Hilton Hotel to shame. The Point Restaurant above the marina was so good we went a second time.

“Accessibility to Everything“

I was at the marina for the game fishing competition in February and stayed for over 2 weeks. What I liked apart from the friendliness of the staff was the accessibility to everything, and the fuel wharf was easy to get to.

“Personal Attention and Assistance“

I have to say, that even in the short time I have been there, I am more impressed than I thought I might be with Soldiers Point Marina and the professional 6 star service you offer.

During the recent storms, the ability to check my boat via your webcam camera was invaluable. As I had only just moved “The Omen” to the marina, I still only had light docking lines securing the boat. When I called, late at night, you went out of your way to place extra lines to secure it in the strong wind, and I was able to watch you do it, via the web cam. It eased my concerns, for this I sincerely thank you for your care and attention to my pride and toy.

Your service also extends to personal attention and assistance with loading, unloading, valet parking and the ability to have ice delivered to my boat, this is service I have never experienced at all the other marinas in Port Stephens I have berthed at over the years.

Soldiers Point Marina is truly a 6 star marina, I just wish I had moved “The Omen” there sooner.

“Donation to Lower Hunter Rural Fire Service“

On behalf of the Soldiers Point Rural Fire Brigade, I would like to thank you for your kind donation of a berth for our Fire Boat.

As a relatively new addition to our brigade, the boat represents a significant investment by Lower Hunter RFS and as such we take our marine responsibilities seriously. Of course, a boat is only as good as its access to the Port Stephens waterways and by allowing us to berth the fire boat at your marina, we are in a fine position to be deployed at short notice.

Once again, I thank you for your generous contribution to the Rural Fire Service and in particular, to our brigade.

“Convenient and Cost Effective“

Our Sailtime membership for us was such a convenient and cost effective way for us to get out on the water and enjoy the pristine waters of Port Stephens. The ‘walk-on, walk-off system’ is a luxury, knowing that everytime you walked on board the vessel everything had been taken care of. Membership has taken us from being ‘land lubbers’ to avid sailors. The vessel Liberty is an easy boat to sail…Soldiers Point Marina staff ensured the departure and arrivals back at the marina were seamless and the staff always ready to assist with any of our questions. All the training and vessel familiarisation including a refresher on my ‘reverse parking’ was comprehensive and confidence building. Nothing was too much trouble. I’d highly recommend a Sailtime membership, floating luxury!

“A Marina for boaties that is an experience“

A Marina for boaties that’s an ‘experience’ not just a destination.

Soldiers Point Marina, Port Stephens was a destination much talked about and recommended by other sailing friends. It surpassed expectations. The berths are suited to the prevailing winds and generous in size so docking doesn’t even require the assistance you’ll get. Jetties are decorated with hanging flower baskets and interesting sculptures and are in themselves a tourist attraction. Once here, there is no need to leave although if you need to re-provision or sight-see you can do it in the courtesy cars – one is a Lexus. Coffee and papers are delivered in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon. There is a lot of theatre surrounding the delivery too.We happened to be there for Valentines Day so a rose was delivered to all the ladies.

The bathroom suites gleam and are floor to ceiling marble, rivalling anything you’d find at the Sheraton. There is no detail that the owner hasn’t thought of to make your stay the most relaxing and enjoyable possible. You’ll find all the usual Marina facilities plus extras and it’s all top notch. 3 types of award winning dining are available in the complex too, from waters edge coffee lounge through to a la carte. Light meals can even be delivered to your boat.

And if all of this doesn’t persuade you that it’s worth a visit in a beautiful physical location, their best asset is the staff who couldn’t do more to help you have a fabulous, fabulous time.

We stayed a week.
Still grinning!

“Truly a Home Away from Home“

No matter how far we venture or sail on “Eliza” our Halvorsen 42 Coastal Cruiser, it is always good to get back to our Berth at Soldiers Point Marina, where the facilities are second to none and, it is truly a home-away-from-home. We have a choice of two top Restaurants who are always welcoming, the Marina Centre is always on-hand to help with any problems with a hull or engine room and, we now have our very own grocery Boat Shed. The way in which the Marina telephone is answered; “How can I help you?” simply sums up the attitude of ALL THE STAFF. Is it any wonder then, that our Marina now proudly fly’s the Flag with 5 Golden Anchors. Congratulations on your well deserved award, well done and many thanks for providing an International Standard Marina right here in Port Stephens, our little piece of Paradise just
got even better!
